Free Teleworkshop: Goal Setting for When You Don’t Know What You Want

I am starting a new series of teleworkshops, where people can call in to a group call and I’ll be discussing an aspect of career development that will hopefully get people clearer and moving onto actions.  The first one will be on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 9 p.m. EDT.  The workshop is free (except that you will need to handle the long distance charges to call into the conference line). This is the first in a monthly series, and I hope that many of you will be able to join me.

Free Teleworkshop: Goal Setting for When You Don’t Know What You Want
Everyone is always recommending that you set goals, but how can you do that when you are so lost that you don’t know where to start? This free (except for your long distance charges) teleworkshop will help us to start investigating steps that we can take to start seeing where you can start to get control when you feel like you have too many ideas spinning around you.

To register, send an email to ken@resonare.com with “Free Teleworkshop 4/14/10” in the subject line, and you will receive the information on how to call in.

    Will there be another one?

May I also suggest a goal setting system called GoalsOnTrack. It’s a web-based goal tracking and time management tool, with a very nice web 2.0 interface, and has many nice features to help you keep track of goals, and most importantly it lets you better organize daily todos towards achieving goals. Highly recommend it for serious goal achievers.

    Harry,
I’ll be doing teleworkshops monthly. I haven’t announced the next topic and time, but I’m planning on 5/12/10 at 9 p.m. EDT. It won’t be the same topic, but something else in the area of career development.

Thanks for the link. It’s always nice to know of options. I don’t know GoalsOnTrack myself, but I always encourage people to try out a lot of different tools, as you never know what will work for you.

Ken, this workshop was interesting and motivating. It was good to hear other people’s reflections. I find that revisiting the “what is most important”, what do I want” questions is affirming as well as useful for goal-setting. Thank you to you for offering this and to the other participants.

Thanks Nancy! It’s always nice to know that it made a difference! As I said, it’s the thoughts of knowing where you want to be that are most important in the planning. It has to be an internal conversation first before you listen to the external one!
